This is in response to Katherine's questions about our mission, milestones, and goals. When we started the GDAA we spent considerable time developing the Purposes in the By-Laws. I think these make a very good "mission statement". These purposes give us a good framework to use in setting up some milestones and goals. Here is a list of the purposes from our By-Laws.

     a. To promote and support the University of California, San Francisco, Graduate Division.

     b. To support fellowship and intellectual interaction among alumni and graduate students.

     c. To increase Graduate Division alumni awareness of and access to the University of California facilities.

     d. To enhance the relationships between Graduate Division alumni and the University of California.

     e. To actively support and participate in the functions of the Alumni Association of the University of California.

I think that it is very important to get support from the group that Mr. Delahunt and Mr. Rausch represented at the September meeting. Their attitude toward us at that meeting was very depressing. One of the first things we need to do is to try to establish some reasonable relationship with them.
